Poet's Tea

April shower

The sky's innards
tumble,
new leaves
breaking the rain's fall.

The Land that Fun Forgot

The land that fun forgot;
Our minds
Temporarily
Rot;
Cascading enthusiasm onto our crumpled paper pile.

Fun,
Had loitered for a while
Making a cup of steaming caffeine
Slipping from ear-to-ear
Dodging
The sheer
Weight
of office politics,
Policing its every breath

Its death,
Immanent
with every utterance of
(Justthoughti’dgiveyoutheheadsupandthinkoutsidethebox)
Slight words;
Taking up the space

Shunting out
Thought.

Face to Face (my not very long conversation with John Hegley)

Face to Face
At the front of the queue,
My new
CD
Proferred
To your poised pen;

Could've said;

"Hey John,
Loved the show!
You got the flow;
the know-how
to wow"

"Hey pal,
I'm diggin' your style
Been a fan for a while
Got a sizeable pile
Of books;

I'm hooked."

Says me:
"Do you think
That pen
will work on this CD?"

Says you:
"I think so"

Muddle makes the world go round: An aside to Mr Emerson

Muddle.

Bad decisions and
Clouded vision

With
Bystanders directions
Left Aside;

Dropped,
In the aftermath.

Muddle
Trips you;

Brambles
On a country path

But muddle
Makes the world go round:

You sometimes see much clearer from the ground.
